aFib scores consists of two scores namely, HAS-BLED and CHA2DS2-VASc which help in calculating the risk of stroke due to atrial fibrillation.
HAS-BLED Score is the acronym of the major factors associated with bleeding risk in patients with atrial fibrillation receiving oral anti-coagulants.
CHA2DS2-VASc Score helps in clinical prediction for assessing the risk of stroke in patients with non-valvular atrial fibrillation. The result can then be used to determine whether or not treatment is required with anti-coagulation therapy or anti-platelet therapy. A CHA2DS2-VASc score is a refinement of CHA2DS2 Score and extends the latter by including additional common stroke risk factors.
